Franziska van Almsick ist bekannt als eine der herausragendsten Sportlerinnen Deutschlands. Die Schwimmerin konnte zahlreiche Medaillen gewinnen und beendete ihre Karriere auf dem Höhepunkt, jedoch ist sie bis heute stellvertretende Aufsichtsratsvorsitzende der Deutschen Sporthilfe. Nach einer langen Romanze mit dem Handballspieler Stefan Kretzschmar ist sie seit 2005 mit dem Geschäftsmann Jürgen B. Harder in einer Beziehung.
Es gibt wenige Informationen über das aktuelle Zuhause des Paares und ihrer zwei Kinder in Heidelberg, aber bis 2013 wohnten sie in einem schicken Haus in Weinheim. Das Haus wurde 2013 erbaut, stieß jedoch auf Widerstand von den Anwohnern wegen des Bauplans.
