189. John Hurt – PANCREATIC CANCER
Actor Hurt was considered as one of the finest British actors in showbiz, and he deserved such credit as he was active for five decades. His role in the film Midnight Express was one of his most iconic ones and it earned him both a Golden Globe and a BAFTA Award as well as an Academy Award nomination. Unfortunately, he was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, a battle that he bravely fought for two years until he said his final goodbye in January 2017. Medical treatments might have prolonged his life for several months, but the disease was unstoppable.
