HARVEY WEINSTEIN: Film Producer – $300M
Harvey Weinstein, along with his brother Bob, made a fortune in Hollywood as the head of production companies Miramax and The Weinstein Company. Harvey was widely praised as a genius with a knack for spotting quirky, indie scripts that had big-budget potential. His success with movies like Silver Linings Playbook and The Artist netted Weinstein a personal fortune of about $300 million, a good portion of which he lavished on real estate holdings from Hollywood to The Hamptons. Dozens of allegations of professional misconduct and assault starting in late 2016 led to a backlash against Weinstein, leading his company to bankruptcy as of February 2018.
