There was no way Ann Blyth wouldn’t be on our list. The iconic musical actress remains one of the last living legends from Hollywood’s golden era. Her most prominent role was the one of Veda Pierce in the classic 1945 movie Mildren Pierce, for which she was a nominee for an Academy Award. She landed several roles in musical films and stage plays of her time, and the now 90-year-old actress might have had the best retirement investment when she got married in 1953 and slowed down on acting until finally leaving showbiz in the mid-’80.
