1985年おニャン子クラブ会員番号8番として『夕やけニャンニャン』開始と同時にデビュー。おニャン子卒業後は女優として、快活な女の子から淑やかな女性まで幅広く演じ、ドラマ・映画で活躍。日本酒サービス研究会・酒匠研究会連合会認定の焼酎アドバイザーという一面も。最近ではドラマ『法医学教室の事件ファイル』へ出演しています。
