Betty Lynn – 94
Betty Lynn has gone through a lot during her life, as her father left her mother, while also threatening to shoot her. Her mother taught her how to sing, and when she turned 18, Lynn started performing with the United Service Organization (USO). She toured several countries worldwide with the USO, including hospitals and other macabre places. On her return to the U.S., she dove right into acting both on Broadway and for the small screen. She gained widespread recognition for her role on The Andy Griffith Show as Fife’s girlfriend. At 94, she still makes regular appearances to sign autographs as well as meet her fans at the Mount Airy-based Andy Griffith Museum.
