11歳でモデルデビュー。トップアイドルに躍り出るも、写真集での話題づくりや婚約・婚約解消で世間を賑わせ、一時活動を休止しました。2002年の映画『たそがれ清兵衛』で復帰後は、落ち着いた演技の本格派女優に転身。最近では映画『人間失格 太宰治と3人の女たち』で太宰の妻を演じました。プライベートでは2018年V6の森田剛さんと再婚し、幸せオーラ満開です。
