Gedurende haar academische jaren in Nederland, waagde Famke Beumer zich in de wereld van modellenwerk. Na haar twintiger jaren, besloot ze haar kansen te beproeven in Amerika. Ze kwam echter snel tot het besef dat haar naam enigszins lastig was voor de Amerikanen om uit te spreken. Daarom besloot ze de achternaam ‘Janssen’ te gebruiken. Dit hielp haar een aantal bijrollen veilig te stellen, voordat ze de mogelijkheid kreeg om Xenia Onatopp te portretteren vanuit het James Bond-universum – een kans die haar grote bekendheid opleverde. Zo groeide ze uit tot een van de sterren van de X-Men franchise, speelde ze een rol in Taken en werd ze ook een gekend gezicht in enkele succesvolle televisieseries. Hoewel haar meest recente optredens misschien niet de grootste kassuccessen waren, staan er enkele veelbelovende toekomstige projecten op de agenda die haar ongetwijfeld weer in de kijker zullen zetten.
