Jeroen Krabbé onderscheidt zich als een buitengewone Nederlandse acteur; hij is niet alleen een gevestigde naam in de acteerwereld, maar heeft ook de zeldzame prestatie geleverd om succesvol internationaal door te breken. In een tijd waarin het nog niet gebruikelijk was om over grenzen heen carrière te maken, maakte hij al in de zestiger jaren zijn eerste schreden als acteur. Een decennium later kreeg zijn loopbaan een aanzienlijke impuls. Met zijn vertolking in ‘Soldaat van Oranje’ liet hij een blijvende indruk achter, wat leidde tot zijn doorbraak in Amerika met de film ‘Jumping Jack Flash’. Daarna werd hij regelmatig gecast als schurk. Nu, dicht tegen de tachtig jaar oud, richt hij zich meer op zijn passie voor de beeldende kunst en het schilderen. Desondanks blijft hij openstaan voor filmrollen die zijn interesse wekken.
