Candis Cayne – Born in 1971
Candis Cayne, born Brendan McDaniel in Maui, Hawaii, is an American actress and performance artist. In the early 1990s, she moved to New York City, performing in drag at clubs like Boy Bar. In 1996, she publicly came out as transgender and began her transition, which included surgeries such as rhinoplasty and breast augmentation.
In 2007, she played a transgender woman in ABC’s Dirty Se*y Money. In 2018, she appeared in a multi-episode arc on Grey’s Anatomy, portraying a transgender patient undergoing surgery. In addition to acting, Cayne authored “Hi Gorgeous!: Transforming Inner Power into Radiant Beauty,” sharing her gender transitioning and beauty tips.
