Thomas Beatie – Born in 1974
Thomas Beatie gained international attention after becoming the first documented legal male to give birth. Assigned female at birth, he began his transition to male in 1997, undergoing gender-affirming surgery in 2002. In 2007, retaining his female reproductive organs, Thomas conceived through artificial insemination.
Over the next three years, he gave birth to three children. In 2012, Thomas filed for divorce, leading to a landmark case challenging the validity of his marriage. By 2016, he remarried and had a fourth child. He has since moved to Arizona to work as a stockbroker while advocating for transgender rights, focusing on fertility and reproductive issues.
