42. The French Angel
Maurice Tillet was a man who suffered from a life-altering illness, and yet rose to become one of the most famous wrestlers of his generation. In the 1940s, he was world heavyweight wrestling champion and was widely known for his amazing feats in the ring.

His strange appearance was caused by a condition called acromegaly, which causes the feet, head, and hands of sufferers to continue growing without stopping due to a hormonal alteration. He entered the wrestling profession at the relatively late age of 34, and quickly found enormous success as a result.
