Sometimes, you see a photo from the past that you’re sure must be an early example of Photoshopping. However, this snap is 100% genuine, and shows Queenie, a famous circle elephant in the 1950s, doing her most famous turn… water-skiing with her trainers!
Her trainer, Liz Dane, insisted that Queenie loved water-skiing, and wasn’t mistreated or coerced into doing such stunts. Her act drew crowds across America, and it isn’t difficult to see why – it’s a mesmerizing and unbelievable sight and one which is still hard to believe almost 70 years later!
