Anne Meara fue una actriz, comediante y dramaturga con numerosos papeles en películas, programas de televisión y obras de teatro. Ella era parte de un dúo cómico con su esposo, pero ambos dejaron de hacerlo cuando parecía que eso podría conducirlos a un divorcio; ese programa era Stiller and Meara. Ella es la madre del famoso actor Ben Stiller, lo que explica mucho acerca de su carrera. Murió en 2015 por causas naturales a la edad de 85 años. Estuvo cuatro veces nominada a los premios Emmy y alguna vez a un premio Tony.
