Michelle Thomas fue más conocida por encarnar a la novia de Steve Urkel, Myra Monkhouse, en Family Matters y también como la novia de Theo, Justine Phillips, en El show de Bill Cosby. También apareció en la serie The Young and the Restless e incluso participó en la película Unbowed. Le diagnosticaron un tipo raro de cáncer llamado “tumor intraabdominal desmoplásico de células pequeñas y redondas”. Murió el 22 de diciembre de 1998. En su testamento, quiso ser enterrada de acuerdo con los principios musulmanes, religión a la que se convirtió poco antes de su muerte.
