Berühmt wurde er durch Programme wie „Tutti Frutti“, „Die Hit-Giganten“ und auch seine langjährige Show, die es bereits in mehreren Varianten gibt, „Genial daneben“. Auch als Schauspieler und Musiker ist er tätig. Er ist heute bereits in fünfter Ehe mit seiner aktuellen Ehefrau Elena verheiratet. Aus seiner vierten Ehe hat er 2 Kinder, die heute jedoch schon erwachsen sind.
