Maybrit Illner hat mit Rene Obermann, ihrem zweiten Ehemann das Glück gefunden. Kennen gelernt haben sich die beiden als Rene Obermann zu Gast bei einer ihrer Talksendungen war. Anscheinend hat es dort schon zwischen den beiden gefunkt, und aus dem professionellem hat sich ganz schnell auch was privates entwickelt. Zu dem Zeitpunkt war sie allerdings noch mit ihrem ersten Mann, Michael Illner verheiratet. Die beiden war schon seit 1988 ein Paar, doch für Rene Obermann hat sie sich von ihm scheiden lassen. Doch auch Rene Obermann verließ seine damalige Beziehung für Maybrit. Trotz aller Gerüchte um die Beziehung sind die beiden heute schon 10 Jahre miteinander zusammen.
