Marcus Schenkenberg, geboren in de noordelijkste regionen van Europa uit Nederlandse ouders, was zichzelf nog aan het vinden in zijn twintiger jaren. Een onverwachte gebeurtenis veranderde zijn levensloop, toen hij tijdens het rolschaatsen op Venice Beach opviel bij fotograaf Barry King. Dit moment zette hem op het pad van modelwerk, inclusief opdrachten voor Calvin Klein, en al snel vulde zijn portfolio zich met werk voor andere grote merken. Hoewel Marcus ook enkele uitstapjes maakte naar de filmwereld, vond hij zijn ware roeping als presentator van een Italiaans voetbalprogramma.
