This play turned into a real-life crash course in trust issues. Phillies catcher Carlos Ruiz seems determined to save the day and the ball, but the Giants player Aubrey Huff looks less than thrilled to be part of the rescue mission. That baseball floating mid-air is the silent instigator of all this chaos.
If facial expressions could tell a story, this one’s screaming, “Why me?” while Carlos probably thinks he’s about to make the highlight reel for a good catch. Though this may end in an out or a trip to the chiropractor, it’s a reminder that baseball isn’t always as graceful as it seems on TV.
