195. Heather O’Rourke – CARDIAC ARREST
Heather O’Rourke became instantly famous as the little girl from the Poltergeist films aged just five years old. Steven Spielberg had the fortune of discovering her when she was visiting the MGM studios. She also made a special appearance in the hit TV show Happy Days. Before the release of the third film in 1998, she was misdiagnosed with Crohn’s disease. As the treatment did nothing, she suffered a heart attack and died on February 1, 1998. Heather’s family attorney filed a lawsuit against the hospital for medical malpractice, which was eventually settled out of court.
