Rachel Maddow is openly a lesbian, making her the first TV talk show host to proudly live her life out of the closet. Maddow serves as an inspiration to the LGBTQ community and hopes that her bravery changes the lives of gay people.
Susan Mikula had hired Maddow to do some yard work for her when Maddow was still working on her dissertation. That started their 20-year romance and they are not about to call it quits. Their biggest show of dedication is disregarding the long-distance factor in their relationship.
