212. Frank Gifford – NATURAL CAUSES
Frank Gifford devoted his life to football – first in college; then in the NFL; and finally, as an announcer for Monday Night Football. He held this last post for 27 years, making him one of the sport’s announcers with the longest career. He won an Emmy Award for his participation in the show. He had two marriages ending in divorce and narrowly avoided a third after an affair of his became public. He died of natural causes in 2015, and like many other football players, he was diagnosed after his death with chronic traumatic encephalopathy.
