Idris se encuentra actualmente en cuarentena en su casa de £ 2.5 millones en Londres. El actor vive en una casa de 3 dormitorios que compró en marzo de 2017. Es una casa de dos pisos con grado II donde vive con su nueva esposa, Sabrina Dhowre Elba. Incluso renovó la casa con un estudio de música y a Idris le encanta hacer y producir música.
