George W. Bush, the 43rd President of the United States, and his wife, Laura, own this expansive Prairie Chapel Ranch near Crawford, Texas. This 1,583-acre property, referred to as the “Western White House” during his presidency, was acquired in 1999 and features a 4K-square-foot main house designed by architect David Heymann.
The residence boasts three bedrooms and a wraparound porch. It also utilizes geothermal energy for heating and cooling. The ranch’s sustainable design includes a 42K-gallon underground cistern collecting rainwater for irrigation. The Bushes added a painting studio in 2008 when George developed a post-presidential passion for art as a hobby.
