Lana Wachowski, born Laurence Wachowski, is an acclaimed filmmaker best known for co-directing “The Matrix.” In the early 2000s, she began her gender transition, making her first public appearance as Lana in 2012 during the promotion of “Cloud Atlas.” Her transformation included hormone therapy and surgeries, leading to a more traditionally feminine appearance.
