Obwohl sein Großvater ein Komiker war, hat Jason Patrick seit den 80er Jahren ernsthafte Rollen gespielt. Seine erste Filmrolle spielte er 1985 im Fernsehfilm Toughlove. Er trat dann in Filmen wie The Lost Boys and The Beast auf. Obwohl er in den 80er Jahren populär war, schwand seine Karriere im nächsten Jahrzehnt und beeinflusste eine Verlagerung zum Broadway. Heute ist er eigentlich noch mit einer arbeitsreichen Schauspielkarriere gesegnet, so dass man mit Sicherheit sagen kann, dass sein Vermögen weiter enorm wachsen wird.
