Als we spreken over het erven van genen, dan heeft Jake Hoffman absoluut de genetische loterij gewonnen, gezien zijn opvallende gelijkenis met zijn vader, de legendarische Dustin Hoffman. Dustin Hoffman heeft een overvloed aan indrukwekkende rollen op zijn naam staan, hoewel zijn eerste golf aan bekendheid voortkwam uit zijn rollen in Rain Man en Kramer vs. Kramer.
Zoals zijn vader, heeft Jake ook een bepaalde affiniteit met de camera en startte meteen met acteren na het afstuderen. Tegenwoordig heeft Jake zijn focus verlegd naar het regisseren en schrijven, ook in navolging van zijn vader. Wij zijn van mening dat dit een slimme stap is voor zijn toekomstige carrière.
