214. Lesley Gore – LUNG CANCER
Lesley Gore shot to stardom with her first song, a cover of It’s My Party which became a number one hit. She was only 16 years old when she reached worldwide fame. That was followed by many other successful recordings. She later moved to compose and writing, including Out Here On My Own for which she was nominated for an Oscar. She hosted In The Life, which was a show oriented towards the LGBTQ community. She had been writing a book about her life when she died of lung cancer at the age of 68 in 2015.
