Rebecca Romijn – Head-to-Toe Silicone Scales & Makeup
Rebecca Romijn had to sit eight hours every day at the makeup artist’s and body painter’s to turn into Mystique in X-Men. The body paint consisted of silicone scales that were applied to her body from head to toe. The exhausting procedure of applying thick blue layers to the skin sometimes required the crew to start around midnight to be prepared for the set around 8 or 9 in the morning. Romijn played the role of the blue-hued shape-shifting mutant before Jennifer Lawrence took over the role in the sequels. They both had the makeup and prosthetics applied when they were in their birthday suits.
