The comedian was running out of weight jokes so he decided to change his look around into the handsome ex-marine he really is. That is not the only reason though, after undergoing heart surgery and being diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes, Carey started taking control of his health, switching junk food for a healthy balanced diet, as well as hitting the gym six days a week, until he lost a total of 80 pounds. It all paid off because at the end of it he revealed that he didn’t need his diabetes medication anymore.
