Baby Peggy might be far from a celebrity nowadays, but during the ’20s, she was the next big thing. She’s considered to be the last living child star of the silent film era, and just imagine that this lady had a $1.5-million salary back in the ’20s! The ’30s were not as kind towards Peggy though and with the lack of a stream of work, she found herself in a bad financial spot. She gradually gave up acting to pursue a career as a silent film historian and an author, under the pseudonym, Diana Serra Cary.
