Der legendäre Star ließ sich sicherlich gehen – etwas, das wahrscheinlich durch seine Drogenabhängigkeit und Alkoholabhängigkeit überhaupt nicht geholfen hat. In der Hoffnung, eine Gewichtsabnahme zu erreichen, unterzog sich Maradona zwei Magenbypassoperationen und schaffte es, etwa 75 Pfund abzunehmen. Es erwies sich alles als vergeblich, als selbst das nicht ausreichte, um ihm zu helfen, sein gewünschtes Ziel zu erreichen. Im Jahr 2016 versuchte er eine regenerative und metabolische Medizin, die von einem biomolekularen deutschen Wissenschaftler, Dr. Ruben Muhlberger, verschrieben wurde, um das Gewicht zu reduzieren.
