Er ist am besten bekannt für seine Rolle als Roseanne als Dan Conner und zu diesem Zeitpunkt war er etwa 368 Pfund schwer. Angeblich hat er es geschafft, sich vollständig zu verwandeln, indem er auf den Alkohol verzichtete, den Zucker reduzierte und sechs Tage pro Woche trainierte. Es gibt jedoch viele Menschen, die spekulieren, dass sein 100-Pfund-Gewichtsverlust ohne die Hilfe eines Gewichtsverlustverfahrens nicht erfolgreich gewesen wäre. Goodman hat einen solchen Anspruch jedoch abgelehnt.
