Cassandra Peterson – Elvira Mistress of the Dark, nata nel 1951
Cassandra Peterson ha iniziato come piccola showgirl di Las Vegas alla tenera età di 17 anni, ma il successo l’aspettava molto dietro l’angolo! Dopo una conversazione con Elvis Presley una sera, Peterson decise di dargli il consiglio di incanalare il suo talento nella recitazione e nel canto in Europa. La Peterson si trasferì quindi a Hollywood, dove nacque il personaggio di Elvira dopo aver girato alcuni film. Elvira è diventata una sensazione per gli spettatori in tutto il paese e Peterson ha sfruttato il suo recente successo realizzando film come Elvira Mistress of the Dark e Elvira’s Haunted Hills. Ha anche donato ingenti somme ricavate dai suoi film a organizzazioni per l’HIV / AIDS e organizzazioni benefiche per il mondo animale.
