Outra concorrente do American Idol para se juntar às fileiras é Jordin Sparks, filha do ex-astro da NFL Phillippi Sparks. Ganhando a sexta temporada do Idol aos 17 anos em 2007, ela é uma das competidoras mais bem sucedidas de todos os tempos. Só mais tarde, em 2013, ela decidiu que precisava perder peso e, em 2015, havia perdido 23 quilos graças a uma alimentação saudável e treinamento cinco vezes por semana. Poucos sabem mas para alguns cantores a perda de peso pode significar mudanças significativas na voz e portanto um risco à carreira, Jordin não teve nenhum tipo de mudança relacionada.
