Star Jones é uma estrela de TV que foi diagnosticada como obesa mórbida quando ela pesava mais de 136 quilos, mas depois de um período de três anos, ela conseguiu perder 73 quilos, com a ajuda da cirurgia. Como já mencionamos anteriormente, este tipo de cirurgia não pode ser feita por qualquer pessoa e é reservado e indicado apenas aos pacientes que estão bem acima do peso e não tem condições de perder o excesso de peso através de dieta e exercícios físicos apenas, para Star Jones foi um recomeço.
