Kirk Cameron foi Mike Seaver em Growing Pains e teve muitos fãs nos anos 80. Ele também recebeu duas indicações ao Globo de Ouro por seu trabalho na série. Declarado como um evangelista cristão, este ator de 45 anos co-fundou um ministério evangélico chamado “O Caminho do Mestre”. Ele tem tentado apoiar sua fé através dos filmes Left Behind e Fireproof. Salvando o Natal foi seu último esforço nesse sentido, mas o filme em si não foi bem recebido.
