Bei 400 Pfund entschied er sich jedoch, dass er, um den Ball ins Rollen zu bringen, eine Magenbandoperation bekommen würde. Von dort aus begann er, an seiner Fitness zu arbeiten und sich dabei strikt an einer gesunden Ernährung zu orientieren. Sein Plan zur Gewichtsabnahme war sehr effektiv und half ihm, über 150 Pfund zu verlieren.
