Der Gründer des beliebten Sundance Film Festivals ist ein bekannter Schauspieler, Produzent, Regisseur und Unternehmer. Nachdem Redford 1962 mit dem Film War Hunt debütierte, übernahm er Rollen in Inside Daisy Clover, Jeremiah Johnson, Butch Cassidy und Sundance Kid, All the President’s Men, Out of Africa, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, The Old Man & The Gun und Avengers: Endgame. Als Regisseur hat er Filme wie Ordinary People und A River Runs Through It gedreht. Robert war von 1958 bis 1985 mit Lola Van Wagenen verheiratet, aber sie beschlossen, sich zu trennen, und ernannten einen Scheidungsanwalt, der die Formalitäten auch nach fast drei Jahrzehnten Zusammenbleiben erledigte. Amy ist ihr jüngstes Kind und hat sich als Produzentin, Regisseurin und Schauspielerin etabliert. Sie beschloss, in die Fußstapfen ihres Vaters zu treten, und bis heute hat sie in Filmen wie Maid in Manhattan und Sunshine Cleaning sowie in TV-Shows wie The Sopranos mitgewirkt.
