194. Redd Foxx – HEART ATTACK
A true comedic genius, John Elroy Sanford or as he was better known, Redd Foxx, was an influence to many modern comedians. He got started, like many comedians do, performing in nightclubs, where he started to become well known for his controversial stand-up material. He was famous for his comedy records and the series, Sanford and Son. Although highly successful, lavish spending, divorce settlements, and a total lack of a business plan led to massive debts and owed taxes. He died on October 11, 1991, following a heart attack while on a break from rehearsals of The Royal Family.
