Parece que todo mundo no mundo já ouviu falar de seu hit dos anos 80, Careless Whisper, e provavelmente ficará perene. Suas outras canções mais populares dos anos 80 foram Father Figure, Faith, One More Try. Ele continuou sua carreira sendo famoso até o seu último dia. Durante os anos 90, ele teve alguns problemas legais, mas mais tarde retomou sua carreira fazendo uma turnê. Ele faleceu devido a insuficiência cardíaca em 2016.
