Cyndi Lauper – Girls Just Want to Have Fun, geboren 1953
Die legendäre 80er Jahre-Sängerin überzeugte Mädchen, die mit ihrem bunten, kantigen Stil und ihren ansteckenden Popmusikstücken einfach nur Spaß haben wollen. Fünf der Songs ihres ersten Albums, So Unusual, landeten in den Billboard-Charts. Mit ihren Hitsongs wie Girls Just Want to Have Fun und Time After Time wurde sie über Nacht zum Popstar. In den 90er Jahren verlangsamte sich ihre Karriere jedoch und trat in den Hintergrund. Cindy hat sich seitdem am Broadway engagiert und sogar einen Grammy und Tony für ihre musikalischen Bemühungen gewonnen und ist eine LGBT-Rechtsanhängerin geworden. Seitdem hat sie bis heute über 50 Millionen Alben verkauft.
