子供の頃はサッカーで全国大会優勝経験も。おニャン子クラブ会員番号40番、ユニット・うしろ髪ひかれ隊のメンバーとして活躍しました。解散後は『キッズ・ウォー』で主演を務めるなど女優として活躍。現在はコメンテーターを務める他、自身が乳がんを患った経験から、厚生労働省がん対策推進室アクションアドバイザリーボードメンバーの一人として、啓蒙活動を行っています。
