The Prank That Went Too Far
Live television can be unpredictable, with unexpected moments often adding excitement to broadcasts. However, there are pranks that cross the line and leave a lasting mark on reporters’ careers. In 2016, a TV reporter found himself at the center of a mortifying event during a live broadcast.
Covering a protest against fossil fuels in New York City’s Washington Square Park, the reporter was caught off guard when a prankster approached from behind. In a cruel act, the prankster pulled down the reporter’s pants, exposing his bright pink boxer shorts to viewers across the nation. It left viewers with an awkward and unforgettable image.
