“The Amityville Horror” House – $850K
The first The Amityville Horror film was released back in 1979 and the producers actually had in mind to film it in Amityville, but the local authorities denied the permission. The next location the crew picked was in Toms River, New Jersey and as it turned out, it was a perfect spot. The location was modified to look like the original house. The current owners of the house gave a hefty amount of cash to acquire this property, $850K to be exact, and they painted the house blue. They must have secured some homeowners’ insurance coverage, too.
