A quiet afternoon in Berea, Kentucky, turned into chaos after a deadly bank robbery left two U.S. Bank employees dead and sparked a massive police chase across state highways. Investigators say the suspect, 18-year-old Brailen Weaver, walked into the bank armed with a gun and opened fire within seconds.

The victims were later identified as 42-year-old Brian Switzer of Jessamine County and 35-year-old Breanna Edwards of Madison County. Both worked at the bank and were described by coworkers and community members as caring and hardworking people. Their deaths stunned the small Kentucky town.

Investigators say the suspect checked several drawers after the shooting before fleeing the building on foot.
