Im Jahr 2019 wird Smith ihre Rolle als Violet Crawley, Dowager Countess of Grantham, im lang ersehnten Downton Abbey Film wieder aufnehmen. Sie hat auch eine Rolle in einen anderen kommenden Film namens A Boy Called Christmas.
