Bereits in den 70er Jahren war Madonna Teil von zwei verschiedenen Bands, bevor sie es schließlich wagte, 1982 mit ihrer Solokarriere zu beginnen. Nicht das erste, sondern ihr zweites Album, Like a Virgin, setzte sie unter die Stars der Popmusik. Hit-Singles wie Papa Don’t Preach, Material Girl und Vogue machten sie zu einem Musikwunder. Bis heute ist die 60-jährige Sängerin die Königin des Pop. Sie hatte auch ein paar Schauspielaufgaben während ihrer Karriere in der Unterhaltungsindustrie, aber es war nichts im Vergleich zu ihrem Singerfolg.
