Después de su éxito con King Crimson y Emerson, Lake and Palmer, Greg Lake se las arregló para seguir vigente en el medio artístico. Era un músico muy completo, siendo de los pocos que puede ser bajista, guitarrista, cantante, escritos y productor. Es el orgulloso interprete de Cat Food y también de From the Beginning, dos temas icónicos en el Reino Unido. Incluso siendo considerado como una estrella de rock famosa, nunca se vio envuelto en la adicción a las drogas o de alcohol. Sin embargo, perdió su batalla contra el cáncer y murió en el año 2016.
