210. Wes Craven – BRAIN CANCER
One of the most influential horror directors, Wes Craven, created one of the most iconic villains of film history, Freddy Krueger of the Nightmare On Elm Street movies. He was called the Master of Horror, as he managed to create scenarios and scripts that were bound to cause fear in his audience. He made good use of his master’s degree in Philosophy and Writing as his films relied heavily on concepts like reality vs. fiction, and the effects of mass culture on the human mind. His death on August 23, 2015, of brain cancer deeply saddened his many fans.
